"events that occurred in connecticut are a wakeup call to re-examine our investments." the california teacher's pension fund has a lot of money for those investments. $155 billion overall to be exact. remember $751 million of that is with cerberus. so facing that kind of clout cerberus announced at 1:00 a.m. this morning that it would sell freedom group and it would return the proceeds to investors. the company said -- cerberus said "it is apparent that the sandy hook tragedy was a watershed event that has raised the national debate on gun control to an unprecedented level. as a firm, we are investors not statesmen or policymakers. our role is to make investments on behalf of our clients who are comprised of the pension plans of firemen teachers, policemen and other municipal workers and unions and endowments and other institutions and individuals." it seems like money talks afterall. at least in the world of private equity. now california state treasurer bill lockyer has asked the states' two largest pension funds,

of the killer in newtown, connecticut, on friday. and the other person who's really been out there in front with very specific suggestions and demands for action is michael bloomberg. scott pelley, host of cbs news last night interviewed michael bloomberg and he dared ask him the question so, you're mayor of new york, why do you care about this stuff? >> why is the murder rate around the country? i'm an american. what's your question? >> why is this mike bloomberg's crusade? >> i live in america! and i'm a human being. i don't know what your religion teaches you. mine teaches you to take care of each other. in america read the constitution. we're all equal and we're all americans. >> bill: bloomberg says basicically, get out of here asking me a question like that. he points out, you know, he has been very critical of president obama saying look, it is up to the president to lead on this with a specific proposal so that he will put forward and fight for. he promised to do that in tucson. >> the president spoke out on

in connecticut. he's appoint vice president biden to lead a commission and when the vice president's recommendations come forward we'll certainly take them into consideration. john fuglesang now john boehner may say he'll consider but he did give himself a good amount of wiggle room. do you hear that right now? that's the friend of the nra revving up their spin machine. fox news reported the gun lobby has remained silent to allow for a proper period of mourning but that soon they would start to "push back." because, you see guns don't kill people but nra people who own congresspeople make it a lot easier for o derange people to get gun and kill innocent people. tomorrow, the nra will hold a press conference outlining their position. and an honest source gave fox news a preview saying that the nra would push politicians to talk about hollywood and the video games that teach young kids how to shoot heads. if you really want to stop incidents like this, passing one more law is not going to do a damn thing. so again what

connecticut. >> good morning, bill. i am calling to say, please keep feeling guilty. >> why? >> because this adorable company does things to make sure that they don't pay taxes in the u.s. there is a thing called -- this was in "the new york times." it's double-dutch sandwich which reduces taxes by routing profits through irish subsidarbs like they are in i think arizona, even when they do things in california they manage to ship a part somewhere else. so they are one of the worst, even worse than wal-mart in terms of what they might have contributed to to. i take it that $24,000,000,000. >> they are avoiding in taxes . >> one little tiny thing, they have had the opportunity over the courses of the years to do things in a much safer way when they manufacture in china and all over the place. >> no. there have been stories about the working conditions in china which is another reason i am glad these jobs are coming here. ruth ruth, you make a good point. i feel good about apple but we also have to change the tax laws so that to reward companies like apple that d
